Make sure your train cars are connected with commas!

Make sure your train cars are connected with commas!

Now we’ve come to a little discussed comma usage that I bet you’ve rarely, if ever, thought about: using a comma to separate two coordinating adjectives that modify the same noun. Now without using industry jargon, that simply means you use a comma to separate two descriptive words that are referring to the same thing. […]

What to do now that CreateSpace is no longer providing editing services

What to do now that CreateSpace is no longer providing editing services

This is what you should do before publishing your manuscript now that CreateSpace does not offer editing services.

The Superhero Serial Comma

The Superhero Serial Comma

When editing any document for my clients, the one comma-usage error that I encounter more than any other is the lack of a serial comma. UPDATE

Now that I've been blogging and freelancing for a while, I've learned many things, most important among them to learn from my mistakes. So, after making newbie blogging mistakes, I've learned that only blogs related to my craft should have a home on this site. Therefore, I've moved any non-writing or non-editing blogs to my other website Dark Horse Rising (https://darkhorserisingblog.wordpress.com/2016/09/13/featured-content/). That site is dedicated to giving a voice to those who otherwise wouldn't be heard and/or need assistance, tips, or just motivation. Beware though, it is still under construction. Please visit that site for the transitioned blogs or to have your story heard.
